Mussels in White Wine Recipe

This is how my mother made mussels when I was a child. It was always a special treat but the truth is - theyre pretty easy to make. You can use either shallots or green onions as your base with the garlic. I recommend using butter instead of oil to give your dish a richer flavor. I like to add fresh lemon juice just before I serve them but you can skip that part if you dont have lemon that day. Mussels are often served with fries but I like them with rice and fresh salad.

List of Ingredients(for 2 people):
1 pound mussels
3 challots or green onions
2 cloves of garlic
bay leaves (optionnal)
a glass of white wine
1/4 lemon worth of juice
fresh parsley
salt and pepper
