Beef Stew Recipe - Red Wine Sauce, Bacon and Veggies

This recipe is rich and warm but also so easy and affordable! In my version of this comfort food classic, I add many vegetables but you can also add more: fresh peas, turnip, parsnips, cauliflower...

As for the red wine, you can avoid it but it does add a nice flavor to the sauce. I encourage you to use fresh herbs to season the dish however if they are not available, the dry stuff will do just as good. Serve this to your friends with a piece of crusty bread and enjoy!

When you cook the beef cubes, you may need to add more butter or oil during if the bottom of the pot goes dry to make sure nothing sticks.

List of Ingredients:
3 slices of bacon
1 lb of beef cubes
2 large carrots
2 ribs of celery
1 large onion
4 potatoes
1/4 lb of mushrooms
3 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper
3/4 cup red wine
3 cups beef stock
1 tbps corn starch diluted in cold water
